Ministry Welcomes Taiwan-Friendly US Defense Official

(Taipei Times, By Stacy Hsu) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their welcome at the nomination of Randall Schriver as US assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific Affairs. He previously served as head of a think tank which researched security trends in Asia. The ministry stated that Schriver has helped further Taiwan-US ties throughout his career and looks forward to the future of their relationship.
